Lagavulin: das Geburtstagsjahr

Den Reigen der Sonderabfüllungen eröffnet hat der Lagavulin 8. Dies war gedacht als Reminiszenz an die erste unter dem Namen Lagavulin offiziell vertriebene Abfüllung, denn auch jener war ein Achtjähriger.

 

Zum Feis Ile wurde ein 18-Jähriger einem etwas größeren Auditorium vorgestellt. Zu unserem Blogeintrag vom Feis bitte hier entlang. Mit einer Auflage von insgesamt 6000 Flaschen war er vorort noch bis Mitte Juni erhältlich.

The Lagavulin 8yo had the honor to open the dance. It was all about to make a reminiscence to the first ever official release under the label, as this was an eight year old as well.

 

For the Feis Ile, an 18 year old was presented to a bigger auditorium. For our blog entry about this one, have a look here. With a volume of 6000 bottles for the release, it was available here until mid of June.

 

 

 

 

Zugleich mit dieser Abfüllung wurde in der Masterclass noch ein Tastingset vorgestellt, das in der Destille noch immer zu haben ist.

 

Enthalten ist in dieser wirklich hübschen Holzkiste ein Set der Standard Lagavulin Abfüllungen mit den entsprechenden spezifischen Aromen.

 

Als Weihnachtsgeschenk wird sich dieses Kleinod wohl unter vielen Christbäumen wiederfinden.

At the same time as this bottling, a tasting kit was presented in the masterclass that is still available for visitors of the distillery.

 

This really neat wooden box contains a set of the standard Lagavulin range alltogether with their related specific aromas. A true gem to be surely found as a christmas gift under quite some Christmas trees.

 

 

Die bereits in den Medien angekündigte Lagavulin 25 Abfüllung wird in der Destillerie voraussichtlich Anfang September erwartet zum Preis von £799. 

 

Auch wird dieses Jahr - und diesmal pünktlich zum Festival - eine weitere Jazz Festival Abfüllung verfügbar sein. Details hierzu wird es von uns noch geben.

The Lagavulin 25yo release that was already announced in the media is expected to be available at the distillery around early September at a price of £799.

 

 

In addition, once more - and this time on time for the festival - another Jazz festival bottling is about to hit the shelves. Further details to be found here.

 

 

 

Das schon Anfang März von Diageo's Global Executive Ivan Menezes ausgesuchte Fass für eine Charity Aktion soll auch zeitnah in Flaschen abgefüllt und auch in der Destille erhältlich sein. Der komplette Erlös wird Projekten auf Islay zur Verfügung gestellt. Eine wirklich schöne Aktion.

 

Außerdem ist geplant, das vorhandene Visitor Centre um eine Tasting Bar in den darüber gelegenen ehemaligen Malzböden zu erweitern.

The cask selected by Diageo's Global Executive Ivan Menezes for charity already in March is going to be bottled and available at the distillery soon, too. The entire proceeds of this is intended to be spent on projects on Islay. Some genuinely nice campaign.

 

Furthermore, the existing visitor centre is to be widened by a tasting bar in the former maltings above.
