Bei unserem letzten Besuch bei Bowmore Distillery im Jahr 2016 durften wir einen Whisky in die Distille bringen, der bis jetzt noch nicht den Weg zurück zu seinem Ursprung gefunden hat - die aktuelle Travel Retail Abfüllung.

Eine Kombination von Oloroso Sherry und französischen Weinfässern in Trinkstärke abgefüllt.
In der Nase begrüßt uns aromatisches Sandelholz unterlegt mit Orangenzesten. Eine ausgewogene Bitter-Süße mit einer präsenten Portion Rauch.

A combination of Oloroso Sherry and french winecasks filled in normal strength with 46%.
In the nose we've got first aromatic sandal wood and orange zests. A balanced bitter-sweetness combined with a typical Bowmore smokieness.
Trotz seiner 46% präsentiert er sich vollmundig. Orange mit leichter Bitternote, unterstützt von feinen Kräuter der Provence Aromen. Fruchtig mit einer präsenten Portion Rauch.
Im Nachklang mittellang. Zurück bleibt die Bitterorange mit einer Spur Rauch.

For it's 46% it is a mouthfilling dram. Orange with a slightly bitterness, combined with hints of Herbs of Provence. Fruity with slightly smokiness.
Bowmore handfilled 20 yo Oloroso 56,2%
Im Glas schon zeigt er sich sehr ölig.
Der erste Eindruck in der Nase: dunkle Gummibärchen mit Rauchnoten, die Frucht ist eingebunden in schokoladige Noten, Bergamotte, Christmas Cake, Stollen, Marzipan (das gute deutsche) und dunkle Pflaume.
Auf der Zunge haben wir beste Schokolade, Zimt und Orangenlikör. Leichte Holznoten fügen sich harmonisch in den Gesamteindruck ein. Ein richtig eleganter Kaminwhisky.
Der Nachklang ist lang und beständig.

This is a very oily one. The first impressions are dark gummy bears (this is typical german association) combined with smoke. The fruit is embedded in chocolate, bergamot, christmas cake, Marzipan (the good german one ) and dark plum.
On the palate we've got best chocolate, cinnamon and orange liqueur. Slightly woody notes complete the overall impression. A perfect dram for sitting in front of a fireplace.
With a long lasting aftertaste.
